Answers:
- Is possible to change my pop3 email password from the Eudora's "change password" option?
No, you must do this via your online control panel.
- Does your mail servers support IMAP protocol ?
No, we do not support IMAP
- What is the maximum size EMAIL that the system will allow to be SENT/RECEIVED ?
You are not allowed to SEND/RECEIVE individual emails larger than:
1/4 Meg.
SENDING/RECEIVING anything larger is not allowed.
The reasong for this, is because PROCESSING MAIL is the hardest thing on the server. The larger the individual pieces of email, the harder the system has to work, resulting in the server being slooooooooowwwwwwww. This is why we restrict it.
- How do I change my POP Email password?
Just login to your Online Control Panel, Click Mail Manager, and then select your POP, and then CLICK Change Password :)
- In the Control Panel it says "998 Address" are remaining. Can you please explain this to me??
This means you have 998 adresses left to assign.
- Is it possible to give each emailadress it's own login and password on the incoming-mail server ? (I don't see the trick to configure that yet.)
Yes, they already do have that built in :)
- Do you also provide Batched SMTP ? I'm looking for that, because I want programs such as MS Exchange Server to communicate with your server. I don't want the clients to communicate with your server, I want them to communicate with the MS Exchange Server.
No, we do not offer this feature.
- Can you fix it so that if I wanted to get my e-amil just by typing mail.mydomain.com and get a sign in page so that i could read my mail without having to go to a different e-mail program?
No, we have no way of doing that :)
- What space in megabytes do I have on a pop3 mail box ???
Up to your open space on your account.
In other words, if you are using 50 megs in your account already, then you have up to 150 megs open in your email box.
BUT, you are NOT ALLOWED to leave more than 1 meg of email in your account for longer than 5 business days.
- I keep getting an ERROR that says MAIL RELAYING DENIED ... HELP?
The recent problem concerning SMTP is a actually a feature that we have and is not meant as a hindrance to your or your business. Let me explain how this feature works and will benefit you and then we can work out the details to help you use this feature. This feature is to protect you and the rest of our clients from SPAM and from being blocked or labeled as a SPAM-relay. A company called ORBS has put together
a database of Hosting companies and servers that have an open Mail-Relay. ORBS will go to each IP address on a server and if they can send mail through your server they put you in their database and inform you that your relay is open. ORBS then gives this database to ISP's around the world. If someone from that ISP tries to send mail to anyone on your server the ISP will see that you are on the database and deny that mail from getting to you. No if, ands, or buts, the mail just drops off the net. ORBS has blocked some of the servers on our network in the past! From mail traffic. We have removed these servers and we are working with ORBS to keep the rest of the servers from getting in the ORBS database list. As you can see by now that if your server is put on the list you will slowly loose every piece of email. That is why we have had to close Mail-Relay for the server.
You should use your ISPs outgoing mail server (SMTP) in place of your domain's.
- How can I delete my e-mail from control panel ?
Go into your file manager.
Then go into your -mail dir.
Then delete the file for the email box you want to delete.
- Do you provide SMTP servers as part of the package?
yes, we provide incoming mail.yourname.com POP3, but, you will need to use your LOCAL ISP for outgoing SMTP, unless your LOCAL ISP does not provide it, in which case you need to e-mail us to contact@x-mb.com
This will provide instructions on how to solve this problem :)
Basically ou should use your ISPs outgoing mail server (SMTP) in place of your domain's.
- Is the space consumed by pop e-mail accounts part of the 200 MB allowance?
Yes, everything related to your account counts :)
- Is it possible to open the SMTP server to more than one IP (range)?
Yes, send us additional IP ranges via e-mail, and we will add those too :)
- Are additional POP e-mail accounts free?
Yes, on all new accounts with the online control panel, additional POP email accounts are free (999).
- Is there no way to add new email addresses without logging into the control panel? (by using forms, scripts, etc.)
yes, that is the only way :)
- Do you support HTML newsletters and what is the best way to send them?
No, we do not. In fact most people receive email via Plain Text, so sending html newsletters, is not a good idea.
- Do you have scheduling of delivery such that if i'm away you can automate the sending out of my newsletter on a given date if I am away?
No, I am sorry... we do not have this feature.
- When I click on the Mail Manager in my control panel, i see that it says "Mailing List Max: 20". Does this mean that max amount of subscribers i may have to my newsletter is 20,000 (1000 x 20)?
Most definitely yes.
If you need a larger mailing list than what we offer, we suggest you go to yahoo.com and type in Mailing List Software, and you will find many commercial mailing list servers.
- Do you have mail merge capabilities?
No, we do not.
- How does your system handle bounced (invalid) emails?
It depends on how you set up your email in your control panel. You can tell the system to return all invalid emails or you can create a "catch all", where you will get all emails regardless of their address :)
- Do you allow SPAM ?
No, we do not allow SPAM!
In fact spamming will result in a FINE per incident, and immediate account termination without notice.
